REGULATIONS FOR CEMETERY DECORATIONS
FRESH CUT FLOWERS are permitted at any time in approved SUNKEN vases. NO CROCKERY, TIN CANS, GLASS JARS, OR VASES, etc. will be allowed and will be removed at once.
Artificial decorations including artificial flowers, winter wreaths, grave blankets, vigil lights, etc. may be placed on graves beginning NOVEMBER 15th and must be removed by MARCH 1st of the following year. After March 1st, any such decorations still remaining will be removed and discarded. Artificial flowers placed in a "saddle" on top of monuments or markers will not be permitted at any time.
Artificial decorations and potted plants of any kind are not permitted MARCH 2nd to November 14th, except for the holidays of Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and Father's Day. Decorations and potted plants will be allowed one week before and will be removed one week after each of these holidays. If you wish to save these decorations, please remove them before the specified time. The Cemetery cannot be responsible for the loss or disappearance of any decorations at any time but will always attempt to protect the interests of our Lot Owners to the best of its ability.
Most sections in the (New) Westside Cemetery have regulations that apply only to that particular section, and in such cases the special rules for that section will always apply.
The planting of live flowers and shrubs is permitted on designated upright monument Lots, but only with the written permission of the Superintendent. The type of planting and location must be approved. Some areas do not allow planting of shrubs or trees.
In all cases, any plantings that are made after receiving written permission become the sole responsibility of that person as to the care and maintenance. Any plantings that become neglected, unsightly, or overgrown, will be removed by the Cemetery without prior notice to the Lot Owner/Heirs at their expense. Any plantings that interfere with interments or that infringe on the rights of adjacent Lots will also be removed.
No fencing or any other type of enclosures around monuments or flower beds will be allowed and will be removed on sight without notice to the Lot Owner/Heirs.
Your cooperation with these regulations will help keep your cemetery dignified and beautiful.
